A Blog Named Hero – September Challenge

It’s Challenge time on A Blog Named Hero. This month the challenge is Inspired by another crafter.

There are so many amazing card makers out there that it was hard to choose from! I choose Jill Hawkins. I seriously think she has never made a card that I didn’t like! Her cards are clean and simple, often contain soft rainbow coloring and stitching.

I started the card by heat embossing the Bursting with Love background stamp with white embossing powder on watercolor card stock. I then water colored using some pretty rainbow colors. Now the part I was most nervous about, I stitched this panel onto my card base using a small sewing machine. I really can’t believe how straight the stitching turned out!

I then die cut the Thanks Message Fancy die out twice in white card stock. I ink blended one of them with pink ink. I wasn’t happy with the way it looked, so I used my second die cut to offset it. This way it shows just a little bit of pink.

This was such a fun challenge. I’m inspired by so many crafters out there. Who are some of your favorites? Head over to A Blog Named Hero to see all the other awesome cards from the design team and join in on the challenge!

  2. This is just so pretty Caren, I really love that soft pastel background and its a good thing you offset the sentiment as the hint of pink showing underneath it is just gorgeous! Hugs, Gwendolyn
