A Blog Named Hero – May Challenge

It’s time for another challenge at A Blog Named Hero. This month we are celebrating Hero Arts 45th birthday! Hero Arts has been a staple in my crafting supplies since I started stamping and making cards.

I started off my card by using an older background cling stamp from Hero Arts called Happy Definition. I stamped it onto a white panel using Versamark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder. I think used a couple of colors of blue distress oxide inks to ink up the panel.

I stamped/heat embossed with black powder two of the dancers from the February 2019 My Monthly Hero kit onto white card stock and die cut them out. For my sentiment, I stamped/heat embossed it onto black card stock and white embossing powder.

To finish off the card, I added some flat black sequins that were also from the February kit.

Spring/Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I’m joining in on the Spring/Summer Coffee blog hop. Kat Scrappiness is a super sponsor for this hop, and has a great sale going on during the hop. Here is the link to the hop.

Kat Scrappiness has some great coffee products in the shop. There is an entire category for coffee in the shop!

I used several products (listed below) from Kat Scrappiness to create this coffee themed card.

I cut two circles out of white card stock using the Never Ending Circle dies from Kat Scrappiness. On the larger circle, I stamped the three coffee bean stamps from Let’s Get Caffeinated in a random pattern. On the smaller circle, I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set. I heat embossed the beans and sentiment using Versamark ink and brown embossing powder.

I then cut two stitched scallop circles from brown card stock that were slightly larger than the white circles. I adhered the white circles onto the brown scalloped circles.

I stamped the two coffee cups from Lawn Fawn’s Pumpkin Spice stamp set, colored them with Copic markers, fussy cut them out, and added glossy accents to the “coffee” in the cups.

I layered a piece of orange patterned paper to brown card stock and adhered this panel to my white card base. I added the two circles, popped up the coffee cups using foam adhesive, and finished off the card by adding orange jewels from Kat Scrappiness.

A Blog Named Hero – April Challenge

I’m excited for my first challenge post as a design team member on A Blog Named Hero. This month’s challenge is Clean and Simple which fits perfectly with my style!

For my card, I used the I’m a Puffer for You stamp and die set.

I started off by masking a circle on the card and using the Reactive Blue Water and Reactive Sea Glass inks from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero March 2019 kit to create an inked circle. I used the wave stamp from the I’m a Puffer for You set inside the circle.

I stamped, colored, and die cut one of the puffer fish and a party hat from the set. I used foam adhesive to adhere these to the card. I then heat embossed with black embossing powder the sentiment which is also from the set. I adhered the white panel to a turquoise panel and then added it to a white card base.

25 Days of Christmas Cards – Day 16

It’s day 16 of my 25 Days of Christmas cards inspired by Kristina Werner. I’ve done a lot heat embossing during this series. It still feels like magic to me and I love the look of white embossing powder on black. Kristina used gouache on her card. I had never heard of it before, but I bought some and tried it out. Turns out, I was terrible at it. I need lots of practice before I’m ready to share a card using it! Instead of gouache, I used colored pencils on my card.
