Merry Christmas Challenge #4 for 2018

Hi everyone!  It’s been about a month since Christmas and getting into the mood of making Christmas cards is a little difficult.  But, it will be awesome to have all these Christmas cards already made when Christmas time rolls around again.

Like always the challenge is anything goes and this weeks optional theme is ornaments for the Merry Christmas Challenge.  I used the stamps and dies from the Hero Arts November card kit.

I stamped the ornaments three times using Fresh Ink from Impress Inks, then used the coordinating die to cut them out.  I covered them with my Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.  I used foam tape to pop up the ornaments on the card.

The sentiment and garland string was stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  Then I used some some gold jewels to top the ornaments.

Merry Christmas Challenge #2 for 2018

For this week, the Merry Christmas Challenge is anything goes with an optional theme of wisemen.  I heat embossed the wisemen image and the sentiment in silver.  Die cut the image using a Limitless Layer die in dark gray.  I die cut the banner in a dark gray and a light gray.

This card was simple to make and could be easily replicated to make many quickly.

10 Cards 1 Kit from Simon Says Stamp January 2018 card kit

Happy New Year.  Hope everyone had a great holiday.  A couple of goals I have for 2018 are to create more (I’ve already accomplished that with this kit!) and to go out of my comfort zones to try new techniques.

I loved the January 2018 kit from Simon Says Stamp.  I’ve made 12 cards from this kit so far.   I think this is the most cards I’ve made in the shortest amount of time from a kit.  Here’s a look at the cards I made.

Card 1 uses the heart stamps from the stamp set and a few of the block stamps.  The idea for this card popped into my head when I saw the stamp set.  That solid/stitched heart is a favorite.Card 2 is a simple card using some patterned paper and a stamp from the kit.  I also used some Nuvo drops around the sentiment.

I used a couple of the cut aparts for card 3 and my favorite sentiment from the set.For card 4, I stamped and cut out many, many of the block stamps, then lined them up on the card.  It didn’t quite come out as I pictured it in my head, and if I had to do it again, I would change a couple of things, but I’m happy with it.

Card 5 is my favorite.  I’m normally not a fan of using loose glitter, but the Vintage Platinum distress glitter was gorgeous.

Card 6 uses an embossing folder I recently purchased.  I cut out a large heart, then inset the same size heart using some of the patterned paper from the kit.

This card was a little out of my comfort zone.  I used distress oxide inks and smooshed it into the paper.  It got a little muddy in middle, but otherwise I like the way it turned out.

For card 8, I cut out a heart, temporarily adhered it to some white cardstock, and then used my distress ink to sponge ink around the heart.  The pink glitter paper is from the December kit and the black is loose glitter I adhered to the card.

I used the latest sketch from Case this Sketch for card 9.  Love how this clean and simple card turned out.

I used several of the cut aparts for card 10.  I wanted to use some of the puffy stickers from the kit since I hadn’t used them yet and thought they went well with this card.

Card 11 and 12 use some pattern papers from my stash and sentiments from the stamp set in the kit.

Merry Christmas Challenge #49

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  It will be nice getting a head start on Christmas cards for the next year!

For this week, the Merry Christmas Challenge is anything goes with an optional theme of nativity.  I used this nativity image from Paper Smooches’ A Blessed Christmas set.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth set. I colored the image using my Zig Real Brush markers.

I love making 3×3 cards and giving sets out for presents.  For this week, the Merry Christmas Challenge is anything goes with an optional theme of sparkle.  I like to put a little bit of sparkle on all my cards!  Here a couple of 3×3 cards that use some sparkly pattern paper from Recollections.  The stamp set is Holiday Glass from Avery Elle.  I just got this set and love it!  I colored the images using my Zig Real Brush markers.

Merry Christmas Challenge #45

December is almost here!  It’s crunch time to get all my cards made and mailed.  I also like making tags for my all my gifts.

Merry Christmas Challenge #39

It’s another week of anything goes for the Merry Christmas Challenge.  I got to spend the past weekend with 16 other very talented craft ladies.  I was able to make several Christmas cards that I will be sharing over the next few weeks of challenges.

For this card, I stamped the large falala sentiment from Simon Says with Lawn Fawn inks in non-traditional Christmas colors. I love how the large stamp fills the entire width of the card.
