Jaded Blossom – May Release Day 3

Hope you all are enjoying the sneak peeks at the new release from Jaded Blossom. Today we are taking a closer look at Birthday Bug tags. I think this is my favorite stamp set from the release.

I really love this first tag that I created with the Birthday Bug Tags stamp set and Rounded Tag die. I think I found the perfect pattern paper in my stash to create the tag. I masked off the Just and Bee-Day word when I stamped it on my tag so that I could have those words in yellow and the rest of the tag in black. I then colored the word Buzz with yellow Copic markers. I used those same colors on the bee and popped it up on the tag.

My second tag uses the other big sentiment from the Birthday Bug Tags stamp set and the Bread Tag die. I use black ink and clear embossing powder for the sentiment. I colored the the balloons and worm with Copic markers and popped up the blue balloon and worm using foam adhesive.

Jaded Blossom – May Release Day 2

Hello everyone! It’s Day 2 of the Jaded Blossom release. Today, we are featuring the Bug Me Anytime stamp set and the Bitten Leaf stencil.

For today’s card, I ink blended with distress inks and the Bitten Leaf stencil to create a focal point for the cute grasshopper stamp from the Bug Me Anytime stamp set. I stamped the sentiment from the same set directly onto my white panel and adhered the grasshopper using foam dimensional adhesive. I added a couple of jewels from my stash to finish the card.

Jaded Blossom – May Release Day 1

Hi everyone! It’s time for the May release at Jaded Blossom. I’m so excited to be joining them as a guest designer this month.

Today we are taking a peek at the Love Bugs Stamp Set and Honeycomb Card Mat die.

My first tag features a cute bee and sentiment from the Love Bugs stamp set. I used the Bread Tag die from Jaded Blossom to create the tag. See that honeycomb background? I used the Honeycomb Card Mat die as a stencil to create it! It is hard to see in the picture, but I added some shimmer and glossy accent on the wings to make it shine.

My second tag uses the Rounded Tag die and a ladybug and sentiment from the Love Bugs stamp set.

Jaded Blossom – Monthly Challenge: Flower Power

Hi everyone. I’m guest designing this month for Jaded Blossom. Today is the start of their monthly challenge. This month’s challenge is to make a project with flowers.

Here is the card I made for the challenge.

I used the Village Windmill stamp set which includes these cute flowers. I stamped and cut out the images using my Silhouette Cameo. I then colored them with Copic markers. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, from the same stamp set, onto blue card stock and cut a fishtail banner on the right side.

I ink blended a sky and grassy knoll using distress inks and the Rounded Tag die. I adhered both the tag and the Windmill/flowers to my card base using dimensional adhesive. To finish the card, I added ribbon and twine to the top of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by, and I can’t wait to show you what Jaded Blossom has in store for you the rest of the month!

A Blog Named Hero – April Challenge

Hello everyone! It’s time for another challenge at A Blog Named Hero. This month’s challenge is Watercolor.

Water coloring is a challenge for me.  I tried a couple of backgrounds that I really didn’t care for. So I went back to what I’m comfortable with, water coloring with distress inks.

I used the gorgeous heart wreath stamp from the Floral Heart Wreath stamp set from Hero Arts. I stamped and heat embossed the wreath with Rose Gold embossing powder on water color paper. I then die cut the wreath with the coordinating frame cut dies.

I then water colored the wreath with various distress inks and a water color brush pen. I die cut a scalloped panel from gray polka dot paper and heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set.

I wrapped yellow and white twine around the bottom of the panel and tied a bow. I used foam adhesive to attach the panel to a white card base. I then adhered the wreath using using foam adhesive.

A Blog Named Hero – March Challenge

Freshly Made Sketches #422

I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge again this week.

I love pattern paper and have so many Echo Park kits that I need to use up. This sketch was perfect for using one of my Spring kits. Both the pieces of pattern paper and the tree came from the kit. I added a bow using coordinating green twine. Then stamped a small Happy Spring sentiment to finish the card.

Here is a look at this weeks sketch.

A Blog Named Hero – February Challenge

Hi everyone. Hi everyone, it’s time for the February challenge at A Blog Named Hero. This month’s challenge is Birthday. I’m always needing birthday cards and this card is one that I could quickly make duplicates of.

I was recently at a stamp retreat, and we had a gift exchange. I received some water coloring supplies and was eager to try them out. I water colored a background with my new shimmery water colors.

Once that dried I stamped the large flower image and the Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Art’s Togetherness Flower Bouquet stamp set in black ink. I stamped it a few times using my Misti. To finish the card, I added a few clear flat sequins.

A Blog Named Hero – January Challenge

Hi everyone, it’s time for the January challenge at A Blog Named Hero. This month’s challenge is Anything Goes. In 2019, I got on the blender brush train and I’m bringing that into 2020!

I used the Spiral stencil with three different distress inks for my background. You can’t really see it in the picture, but I did spray this with shimmer spray. I then used a rectangle die from my stash to cut out the zig zag panel.

I then cut out the Thanks Message Fancy die three times, once in a coordinating turquoise paper and twice in white. I glued these layers together to give the card some dimension. To finish the card, I added moonshine sequins from the December 2018 My Monthly Hero kit.
